Dundarbey Theological School

The Dundarbey Theological School building in Egirdir was originally constructed in 1218 by Aladdin Keykubat. In 1285 Dundarbey, ruler of the Hamitogullari, turned it into a theological school (Medrese).
The entrance archway is adorned with fine stone-workmanship and is worth a few minutes' appreciation. It is located in the center of town. The Hizirbey mosque in Egirdir is in the same place. The building where the Dundar Bey Theological School was once located is nowadays a small daily marketplace ‘bazaar’.
